TOWNSHIP OF RAMARA
The Township of Ramara and Muskoka Wifi are pleased to announce that residents of the north end of Ramara have access to faster rural internet.
“Improving internet services in Ramara Township has been a strategic goal of council since its election in 2018,” said Mayor Basil Clarke. “Our partnership with Muskoka Wifi will provide enhanced services in the northern part of the township that will provide equitable access to educational information, resources, tools and services.”
In 2021, the Township of Ramara requested proposals from ISP providers to address six service gaps in Ramara. Muskoka Wifi, a local high-speed wireless service provider, has submitted a proposal to help serve approximately 200 homes on the north end of Ramara with the installation of two 120-foot towers. The two towers will provide up to 50 megabits per second (Mbps) service with unlimited data to 200 rural households and small businesses.
“We are proud to have been chosen to serve our neighbors and friends in Ramara Township,” said William Holmes, Founder and President of Muskoka Wifi. “Our mission is to serve those of us who have had difficulty finding consistent, quality high-speed internet. We would like to thank the Township of Ramara for making a significant investment in the community with this partnership and We look forward to welcoming residents of Ramara to Muskoka Wifi.”
